Welcome to the Athletic Department

North Catholic sponsors 9 varsity sports and competes in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL), the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA), and in sport-specific leagues.

All students who participate in athletics MUST have a CIPPE Physical Form on file with the Athletic Office.  Please download this form and return it to the Athletic Office as soon as possible.

The various teams have enjoyed great success over the past 70 years and annually produce teams that rank high in the district and state-wide.

From 1939 thru 1973, North Catholic was an all male institution.  In 1973, North Catholic had its first co-ed student body.  North Catholic provides its young student-athletes with the very best in competitive opportunities playing against challenging teams from all over the state of Pennsylvania.

One of the many reasons for North’s success has been the ability to involve many students in the athletic program by offering different levels of competition: freshman, junior varsity, and varsity.
