Coach Fabian is heading into his second season as Head Coach of North Catholic Baseball Program. Under coach Fabian’s watch the Trojans finished 17- 4 overall, and winning the WPIAL-Section 6(AA) title with an 11-1 record. Coach Fabian had six players named to the All-Conference team in 2006, two players elected to represent the WPIAL AA All-Star Team, which coach Fabian managed beating the Class (A) All-Stars 5-0. Coach Fabian has coached at the high school level for six seasons and three of those seasons as Head Coach at his Alma Mater, Ford City High School 2001-2003. Coach Fabian served as an assistant coach in 2004 at South Park. In 2005, Coach Fabian was an assistant at Indiana University of PA. Coach Fabian was a four-starter at Gannon University and was drafted by the Chillicothe Paints in the 3rd round of the independent draft following his senior season. Coach Fabian’s overall high school record is 42-28 and 1-1 in the postseason. Coach Fabian works with the pitching staff and infielders.

Assistant Coach: Kevin McDonough - was a four-year starter at La Roche College before joining the NC baseball in 2006. Coaches 1st base, conditioning, and outfielders.

Assistant Coach: Dan DePalma - was assistant coach for three years at Ambridge High School before joining coach Fabian’s staff in 2006. Serves as the team’s bench coach and works with the hitters.

Assistant Coach: Bob Downey - joined the NC staff in 2006. Coach Downey is the JV coach and has 15 years of coaching experience.

Home Fields: La Roche College and Herb Field, Ross Twp.

Spring Trip: Last season North Catholic varsity and junior varsity baseball teams traveled to Gaffney, S.C. to participate in the North-South Classic. The program plans on returning to the tournament in 2007. Coach Fabian believes that the trip south in the spring will allow him the preparation needed to be competitive during the regular season play and winning the WPIAL Class AA Championship 2007.

Practices: Baseball is a spring sport. Practices during the school year are everyday at 5 p.m. Optional opportunities include baseball workouts in December through February at NC.

Who can play: Any North Catholic boy with athleticism and interest. A sports physical is required.
